Last I heard, this Trabi was owned but being offered for sale by brothers Daniel & Markus Polak of Chicago, Illinois. It was imported from Germany in a container via Montreal, Canada. In 2004 it won First Prize in a local car show in the Chicagoland Area!
Besides being confirmed Trabant Fans, the Polak brothers also collect international Police uniforms as well as license plates so you can just imagine the fun they have at car shows dressed up as "Polizei" escorting their Trabi!
