Although I am an enthusiastic classic automobile "buff," my real reason for wanting a Trabant is to hold a piece of DDR-Geschichte. I too speak German, have long been interested in Cold War history and how East Germany was the stage for playing out much of that history. I have traveled extensively throughout the former Eastern Block countries and, simply, want to possess and be able to save remnants from that time for posterity. |
