Ryan took part in a student exchange program in Germany in 1999 and fell in love with the Trabant. Since coming back to the states he had been trying to find one and happened to find it in his own town. Ryen is also a big fan of all things Ostalgic and has a big collection of East German memorabilia that people were happy to give him as he intercepted them on the way to the garbage can.
